Job summary

George Weston Foods Limited, Tip Top Dry Creek, is seeking a qualified Maintenance Fitter to join our maintenance team.

You'll work across breakdowns, preventative maintenance, fault finding and continuous improvement, using your trade skills to keep our bakery plant running safely.

Roster is 4 days on, 4 days off with onsite physio and staff rewards programs.

Qualifications

• Around 3 to 4 years of industrial maintenance experience.
• Strong mechanical fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Intermediate pneumatic and hydraulic skills.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out breakdown and preventative maintenance across plant and equipment
• Mechanical fault finding and troubleshooting
• Diagnosing pneumatic and hydraulic faults
• Fabrication, welding and machining
• Supporting reliability and continuous improvement projects
• Assisting with control system processes and fault diagnosis
• Completing maintenance records and system data entry
• Working closely with the broader team to improve equipment performance and reliability

Looking for a maintenance role that offers variety, hands-on technical work and a roster that gives you four days off at a time?

An exciting opportunity is available for a qualified Maintenance Fitter to join the Tip Top Dry Creek Maintenance Team.

Reporting to the Reliability Manager, you’ll play an important role in keeping our plant and equipment running safely and reliably. You’ll work across breakdowns, preventative maintenance, fault finding and continuous improvement, with plenty of opportunity to use your trade skills and broaden your technical experience.

Roster: 4 days on 4 days off.

Key responsibilities:

No two shifts are exactly the same. As part of the Maintenance Team, you’ll be involved in:

• Carrying out breakdown and preventative maintenance across plant and equipment
• Mechanical fault finding and troubleshooting
• Diagnosing pneumatic and hydraulic faults
• Fabrication, welding and machining
• Supporting reliability and continuous improvement projects
• Assisting with control system processes and fault diagnosis
• Completing maintenance records and system data entry
• Working closely with the broader team to improve equipment performance and reliability

Who we'e looking for:

We’re looking for someone who enjoys solving problems, working with their hands and being part of a collaborative maintenance team. Ideally, you’ll bring:

• Around 3 to 4 years of industrial maintenance experience
• Strong mechanical fault-finding and problem-solving skills
• Intermediate pneumatic and hydraulic skills
• Fabrication and machining skills, desirable
• Sound decision-making skills
• Food manufacturing experience is highly regarded, but not essential
