Job summary

Sutherland Shire Council's Leisure Centres are seeking a proactive Fitness Trainer to join our Sports and Leisure directorate. You will engage with clients, supervise gym activities, support group fitness, and ensure high cleanliness and safety across our facilities.

Applicants must hold a Certificate IV in Fitness (or higher), current CPR and First Aid, and show experience in exercise programming and delivery.

• Experience in a similar role with ability to design and deliver exercise programs.

Your Role in Our Team

As a Fitness Trainer in our Sports and Leisure directorate, you'll be at the heart of our fitness operations. Your role will include:

• Engaging with clients to create exceptional fitness experiences
• Supervising gym activities and ensuring a safe and welcoming space
• Supporting group fitness programs and conducting fitness assessments
• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety across our facilities

You'll work closely with team members and clients, providing expert guidance while helping us deliver high-quality services every day.

Who We're Looking For

We're after enthusiastic, community-minded fitness professionals who are ready to hit the ground running!
To be successful in this role, you'll need:

• Certificate IV in Fitness (minimum)
• Current CPR and First Aid certificates
• Proven experience in a similar role with strong skills in exercise programming and delivery
• Great communication skills and a positive, can-do attitude
• A commitment to ongoing learning and professional development

• Interview date: Interviews will be facilitated within two weeks from closing date.
• Package: $58,545 - $61,927 (full time equivalent) gross p.a. plus 12% superannuation. Salary will be paid pro rata to the part time hours worked.
• Hours of work: Permanent Part Time Opportunities available. Candidates must be available as rostered over a 7-day spread across various Leisure Centres.

Suitable candidates are subject to pre-employment screening which includes Reference Checks, Work Rights Verification, Identity and Functional/Medical History Checks, and will also include a Criminal History, Qualification and Working with Children Check. Employment is subject to clearance of all these checks.
