Job summary

mycar Tyre & Auto is seeking a 1st Year Apprentice Mechanic for the Northland/Melbourne area. You will participate in structured training, perform basic servicing, oil changes, tyre rotations and brake inspections alongside experienced technicians.

You will spend 4 years developing skills through hands-on learning and formal trade school, guided by qualified trainers, with a strong focus on safety, quality and career growth in automotive service.

Qualifications

• Must be Australian citizen and/or Permanent Resident.
• Demonstrates mechanical aptitude and interest in the trade.
• Committed to a full-time 4-year apprenticeship, including practical studies.
• Shows self-motivation and a proactive, “can do” attitude.
• Ability to follow safe work practices in a workshop.
• Current driver’s license or near obtaining one preferred.
• Certificate II in Automotive or demonstrated experience is ideal.

Responsibilities

• Perform minor servicing of light vehicles.
• Carry out tasks such as oil changes, tyre rotations and brake inspections.
• Use and maintain workshop tools and equipment.
• Keep the workshop clean and tidy.
• Learn from qualified technicians and trade school throughout the program.
