Job summary

Padua College Brisbane invites applications for a First Nations Engagement and Support Officer. This part-time, term-time role is offered on a permanent contract, 30.4 hours per fortnight (15.2 hours per week), with work across two or three days per week and some flexibility to meet operational needs.

Reporting to the HR team, you will foster a culturally safe environment, build partnerships with Elders and community partners, and contribute to the College RAP.

Qualifications

• Qualifications in Education, Youth Work, Community Services, Social Work, Indigenous Studies or a related field (desirable).
• Experience mentoring, student support, wellbeing or community engagement programs.
• Experience contributing to Reconciliation Action Plans or similar initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Foster a culturally safe, welcoming and inclusive environment for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.
• Establish partnerships with Elders, community representatives and external agencies.
• Contribute to development and monitoring of the College's RAP.
• Provide guidance to staff on culturally responsive practices for Indigenous students and families.
• Collaborate with Student Wellbeing and Teaching & Learning Teams to support induction and transition of Indigenous students.
