Job summary

Catholic Education - Diocese of Rockhampton invites applications for the position of Classroom Support Assistant (First Nations Education) at Catherine McAuley College, Mackay. The role is term-time continuing, 18 hours per week, commencing 18 January 2027.

The successful applicant will support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students with targeted academic assistance, uphold confidentiality and work collaboratively with staff to promote inclusive learning and positive educational outcomes.

Qualifications

• Knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories, cultures and spiritualities.
• Ability to communicate sensitively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, families and school staff to support educational outcomes.
• Commitment to Catholic Education ethos and maintaining confidentiality.
