Job summary

North West Hospital and Health Service is seeking an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Practitioner to join the Maternal Child and Youth Health team. You will build trusted relationships with First Nations families, conduct health assessments, provide education, and support immunisation and development programs across Mount Isa, Mornington Island and Doomadgee.

You must hold the AQF Certificate IV or Diploma in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care and registration

Qualifications

• Must have AQF Certificate IV or Diploma in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care.
• Registration as an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Practitioner with relevant board is required.
• Immunisation qualification or ability to obtain within 6 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Build trusted relationships with families and communities.
• Provide health assessments and education to First Nations children and families.
• Support child development and immunisation programs.
• Contribute to Keeping First Nations Mums and Bubs on Country initiative.
