Descripción del empleo

First Line of Accountability Implementation Lead

Through the merger of Bank Australia and Qudos Bank we're creating a better, stronger and more resilient bank for our customers and employees. As one company with two trusted brands, we're building on the strong foundations of our history and shared values as we bring together the best of both banks.

As First Line of Accountability Implementation Lead, you will lead the design, implementation and continuous improvement of risk, compliance and operational frameworks across the first line of accountability. Working closely with business leaders and risk stakeholders, you will translate regulatory obligations and risk requirements into practical processes, controls and ways of working that strengthen accountability, consistency and operational effectiveness.

Through stakeholder engagement, governance and change leadership, you will drive the successful embedding of risk and compliance practices, build organisational capability and support sustainable business outcomes across the Customer Office Division.

  • We have big plans to become Australia's most trusted bank and a leading purpose-driven business.
  • As a certified B Corp, we're part of a global business community who meet the highest social and environmental standards, putting purpose over profit.
  • Every role and person in our bank is essential to bringing our values, purpose and aspiration to life.
  • We offer flexible working options, competitive salary and 14% super.
  • Our staff have access to a range of meaningful benefits to support their physical and mental wellbeing including 24/7 free counselling, free flu vaccinations and discounted gym memberships.
  • We also support staff with study assistance, paid parental leave (regardless of gender), volunteer, bereavement, gender affirmation and family violence leave; and the opportunity for bonus annual leave.
  • We support our staff to grow their careers through learning and development and an organisational culture where we reward and recognise innovation and values, not long hours.
  • We are committed to building an inclusive culture and a diverse workforce that reflects the Australian community.
  • We care for a conservation reserve - where we work with key partner organisations to protect threatened species and involve staff in conservation.
What you will be doing
  • Lead the design, implementation and continuous improvement of Line 1 risk, compliance and accountability frameworks across the business.
  • Translate regulatory obligations, policies and risk requirements into practical processes, procedures, controls and governance frameworks.
  • Develop and maintain process documentation, including procedures, process maps, templates and supporting governance artefacts, ensuring they remain current and fit for purpose.
  • Lead implementation and change initiatives, coordinating stakeholders, managing dependencies and supporting the adoption of new ways of working.
  • Embed risk, control and compliance considerations into business processes, identifying gaps and driving remediation and improvement opportunities.
  • Partner with business leaders, subject matter experts and risk stakeholders to strengthen accountability, governance and operational effectiveness.
  • Provide trusted advice and recommendations on framework design, process governance and risk management requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to simplify, standardise and enhance processes, controls and business outcomes.
What you will bring
  • Strong experience in risk, compliance, governance, operational excellence, process improvement or a related discipline within banking or financial services.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and implementing risk, compliance, governance or accountability frameworks within complex organisations.
  • Strong process improvement capability, including process mapping, procedure development, governance documentation and operating model design.
  • Sound understanding of risk and control frameworks, including obligations management, RCSAs, control design, incidents, issues, assurance and remediation activities.
  • Highly developed stakeholder engagement, facilitation and influencing skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships and provide advice to senior leaders.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to identify gaps, dependencies, risks and improvement opportunities.
  • Proven ability to lead complex initiatives, manage competing priorities and deliver outcomes with a high degree of autonomy.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex risk, compliance and process requirements into practical business outcomes.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Risk, Compliance, Business, Finance, Governance or a related discipline. Experience with GRC platforms such as Protecht and formal risk, compliance, governance, project management or process improvement certifications will be highly regarded.
  • Commitment to Bank Australia's purpose, aspiration, values and brand as well as the B Corp ethos
