Job summary

Zeal Personnel is seeking skilled Production Welders for major structural steel fabrication projects based in the Perth metro area. This is a 4-month workshop contract (SOR) with potential extension, working on heavy structural steel fabrication using MIG (GMAW) and Flux-Cored Arc Welding (FCAW).

You will interpret shop prints, prepare joint fit-ups, gouge and grind weld prep, and maintain high production rates while ensuring quality and safety.

Qualifications

• Trade Qualification: Certificate III in Engineering (Boilermaking/Welding) or proven equivalent trade experience.
• Welding Expertise: Demonstrated proficiency in 3G Flux Core Arc Welding (FCAW) on structural steel.
• Work Ethic: Punctual, reliable and safety-first mindset.
• Rights to Work: Full working rights in Australia.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality 3G / positional Flux Core (FCAW) and Mig welding on structural steel components.
• Interpret and work directly from structural fabrication drawings and shop prints.
• Prepare joint fit-ups, gouge/grind weld preparation, and ensure clean finishes.
• Maintain high production rates while meeting strict weld quality and safety standards.
• Operate safely within a fast-paced workshop environment.
