Job summary

John Holland Group leads the Torrens to Darlington Alliance in Adelaide, delivering the 10.5km tunnel and associated works. As Testing & Commissioning Fire Lead, you will steer testing, commissioning and handover of fire protection systems across the project.

You will work with construction, engineering, safety and commissioning teams to plan readiness, conduct integrated tests, resolve defects and ensure compliant, fully operational systems by project handover.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in fire systems testing and commissioning, preferably within major infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of fire detection, fire suppression and life-safety systems.
• Experience leading commissioning across multiple contractors and disciplines.
• Understanding of Australian Standards, regulatory requirements and project specs.
• Ability to develop commissioning plans, test procedures and schedules.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
• Commitment to safety, quality and fully tested systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead the testing and commissioning of fire protection and life-safety systems across the T2D project.
• Develop and implement testing and commissioning plans, procedures, schedules and methodologies.
• Coordinate system readiness activities with construction, engineering, subcontractors and commissioning teams.
• Lead functional, pre-functional and integrated testing of fire systems and interfaces.
• Manage specialist fire subcontractors, vendors and commissioning resources.
• Review testing results, documentation and certification to ensure compliance with project requirements and standards.
• Identify, manage and drive resolution of commissioning defects and outstanding works.
• Coordinate interfaces between fire systems and other tunnel, electrical, mechanical, and life-safety systems.
• Provide technical input into operational readiness, integrated testing and emergency response scenarios; support handover.
