Job summary

Equans ANZ in Melbourne is seeking a Fire Electrician to install, maintain and commission life-safety systems across premium sites. The role covers testing, fault-finding and on-call duties, ensuring compliance with Australian Standards.

You will work with AMPAC, MX/1, Vigilant & Notifier to deliver reliable fire protection across metropolitan Melbourne. A Victorian A-Grade Licence, strong fault-finding skills and customer-focused service are essential.

Qualifications

• A Grade Victorian Electrical Licence is required.
• Experience using AMPAC, MX/1, Vigilant & Notifier.
• Proven experience with fire detection systems.
• Current Victorian Driver's Licence.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Commitment to safety, quality and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Service, maintain and test fire detection and alarm systems.
• Fault find and repair fire protection systems.
• Install and commission fire panels and associated equipment.
• Conduct emergency warning and intercom system (EWIS) testing.
• Complete electronic service reports and compliance documentation.
• Ensure all works are performed safely and in accordance with relevant standards.
• Build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
• Participate in on-call rosters when required.

About The Role

As a Fire Electrician / Programmer for AMPAC, MX/1, Vigilant & Notifier, you will play a critical role in ensuring life safety systems operate reliably and remain compliant with Australian Standards and regulatory requirements.

You will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, testing, fault-finding and commissioning of a broad range of fire systems across metropolitan Melbourne.

Essential

What We're Looking For

• A Grade Victorian Electrical Licence
• Experiencing using Programmer for AMPAC, MX/1, Vigilant & Notifier
• Proven experience working with fire detection systems
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
• Current Victorian Driver's Licence
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Commitment to safety, quality and compliance

Highly Regarded

• Experience with Notifier, Honeywell, Tyco, Ampac, Pertronic, Simplex or equivalent systems
• Fire Systems Accreditation Scheme (FSAS) qualifications
• EWIS experience
• Construction White Card
• Experience in commercial or critical infrastructure environments
