Protech is seeking motivated and reliable Field Officers to join the Fire Ant Eradication Program with Biosecurity Queensland, operating from the Burleigh Heads and Canungra Depots. The role begins on 27/10/2026 and involves outdoor work, hands-on pest control, and data recording.

You'll enjoy a 9-day fortnight, uniforms and PPE, a company vehicle for work hours, and the opportunity to contribute to Queensland's environment and communities.

Qualifikationen

• Hold a current open driver's license.
• Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Experience in landscaping, agriculture, arboriculture, conservation or related outdoor roles.
• Physically fit to walk 10–15 km daily across varied terrain.
• Strong communication and customer-service skills.
• Able to work well in a team and follow safety procedures.

About the role

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Conducting visual surveillance for fire ants and other insect pests
• Applying bait treatments in targeted areas
• Recording field observations and collecting accurate data
• Completing daily reports and record-keeping activities
• Driving a company vehicle between assigned locations
• Engaging with members of the public and providing information when required

What we're looking for

Successful candidates will:

• Hold a current open driver's licence
• Enjoy working outdoors in all weather conditions
• Have experience in landscaping, agriculture, arboriculture, conservation, land management, civil works, or other physically active outdoor roles
• Be physically fit and capable of walking up to 10-15km per day across varied and challenging terrain
• Have strong communication and customer service skills
• Work well within a team environment
• Be committed to safety and following procedures

Pre-employment requirements

• Ability to pass a Drug & Alcohol Screening
• Ability to obtain and pass a National Police Check
