Job summary

HLB Mann Judd is seeking a Financial Reporting & Advisory Manager in Sydney to drive technical accounting and financial reporting across a diverse client base. You will lead engagements, manage client relationships and coach junior staff within a collaborative team.

The role is a 12-month parental leave contract with potential to become permanent. You’ll work with ASX-listed and private clients, employing innovative solutions and technology to enhance service delivery.

Qualifications

• 6+ years’ experience in accounting advisory, complex audit or related professional services.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, AASB and reporting requirements.
• Experience with complex group structures, consolidations and treasury activities.
• Demonstrated experience leading complex client engagements.
• CA or CPA qualification.

We're looking for a Financial Reporting & Advisory Manager to join our Corporate Financial Reporting & Advisory practice at our Sydney Office:

• 12 Month Fixed Term Contract (Parental Leave Cover)
• Best Accounting & Consulting Services Firm (revenue $100-$300 million)

The opportunity

We’re looking for a Financial Reporting & Advisory Manager to join our Corporate Financial Reporting & Advisory practice at our Sydney Barbairro office. With over 250 people across our firm, HLB offers genuine career progression, exposure to diverse work, and the opportunity to make a real impact.

As a Financial Reporting & Advisory Manager, you will:

• Join a growing Corporate Financial Reporting & Advisory practice delivering technical accounting, financial reporting and finance function support services across a diverse client base
• Lead complex accounting advisory engagements from planning through to delivery
• Analyse technical accounting issues and develop practical solutions that balance reporting, compliance and commercial objectives
• Prepare and review high-quality client reports, technical accounting papers and client presentations
• Embrace technology and innovation to enhance service delivery
• Manage engagement economics, including budgets, resourcing and client relationship
• Lead, coach and develop team members while managing priorities across multiple engagements

About you

You’re someone who enjoys working in a collaborative, professional environment and takes pride in delivering quality outcomes. You’ll bring:

• Minimum 6+ years’ experience in accounting advisory, complex audit or a related professional services environment
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, AASB and financial reporting requirements
• Experience with complex group structures, consolidations and treasury activities
• Demonstrated experience managing complex client engagements
• CA or CPA qualified
• Strong client relationship and stakeholder management skills
• Experience leading teams, coaching staff and managing competing priorities
• The ability to navigate change and contribute to a growing advisory practice
• Experience with Xero preferred, including advising clients on best practice adoption and reporting solutions.
