Job summary

Icon Water is seeking a commercially minded FP&A Senior Analyst to lead budgeting, forecasting and financial performance management. You will consolidate planning activities and partner with executives across portfolios to drive performance.

You will develop consolidated reporting, deliver insights for the Executive, Board and external stakeholders, and support continuous improvement of Plan-to-Perform processes.

Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary qualifications in Accounting or Finance.
• CPA or CAANZ membership.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in FP&A or management accounting in a commercial environment.
• Good grounding in general accounting principles, budgeting and forecasting.
• Experience in business performance reporting and Board reporting.
• Experience using large Financial Information Management systems and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and maintenance of forecasting and budgeting system with master data maintenance and integration with Finance system.
• Oversee budgeting/forecasting calendar development and maintenance.
• Support down‑up and bottom‑up budgets and long‑term plans across the portfolio with stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain integrated financial models to assess capex, Opex, and funding assumptions.
• Provide financial modelling, scenario analysis and insights for planning and prioritisation.
• Drive continuous improvement across the Plan-to-Perform process.
• Review consolidated performance reports and provide insights to Executives and the Board.
• Coordinate submission of financial reports to ACT Government and external agencies.
• Assist senior decision makers in understanding financial performance and budget impacts.
• Translate complex financial information into clear insights for non-financial stakeholders.
• Conduct detailed financial and commercial analyses for business cases and investments.
• Evaluate viability, risks and value-for-money of proposed projects.

ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY

We're looking for a commercially minded Financial Planning & Analysis, Senior Analyst (FP&A) to play a pivotal role in Icon Water's budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance management processes. You'll support the development, consolidation, and management of key planning activities while providing trusted financial business partnering to assigned corporate portfolios.

In this role, you'll prepare consolidated business performance reporting and deliver meaningful insights and commentary to support Executive, Board, and external stakeholder decision-making. Partnering closely with operational, commercial, and executive leaders, you'll translate complex financial and operational data into clear, actionable insights that drive organisational performance.

With a strong focus on financial planning, reporting, analysis, and continuous improvement, you'll contribute to the ongoing enhancement of financial planning and performance management frameworks. This includes strengthening benefits realisation practices and improving the Plan-to-Perform process to drive consistency, efficiency, and value across the organisation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead the development and maintenance of the forecasting and budgeting system, including master data maintenance, key parameters and ensure accuracy and integration with the Finance system.
• Lead thepreparation,maintenanceandmanagementofthebudgetingandforecastingcalendar.
• SupportthedevelopmentofIconWater’stop-down andbottom-upbudgets, andlong-termplans forecasts across the entire financial portfolio (income statement, balance sheet, cashflowand capital), with internal and external stakeholder groups.
• Develop and maintain integrated financial models to assess the long-term impact of operating expenditure, capital investment, demand forecasts and funding assumptions, supporting sustainable business performance and strategic decision making.
• Provide financial modelling, scenario analysis and strategic insights to support organisational planning, investment prioritisation and long-term financial sustainability.
• Supportdrivingcontinuousimprovement acrossthePlantoPerformend-to-endprocess.
• Reviewconsolidatedbusinessperformancereportandprovideinsights,andcommentary to support data-driven Executive and Board decisions.
