Job summary

Kennedy Reid Pty in Melbourne is seeking an experienced Financial Lines Broker to manage and grow a high-quality portfolio, providing expert technical advice across PI, D&O, Management Liability and Cyber.

You will work with a collaborative team of brokers, claims specialists and underwriters to deliver exceptional client service, renewals, endorsements and new business while pursuing genuine career progression.

Qualifications

• Experienced in Financial Lines broking including PI, D&O, Management Liability and Cyber.
• Manage portfolio renewals, endorsements, new business and ongoing servicing.
• Negotiate with insurers to secure terms and appropriate coverage.
• Develop and maintain long-term client relationships.

Responsibilities

• Manage an established portfolio of Financial Lines clients, including renewals, endorsements, new business and ongoing servicing.
• Provide advice across Financial Lines products including Professional Indemnity (PI), Directors & Officers (D&O), Management Liability and Cyber Insurance.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring a high standard of service and advice.
• Negotiate with insurers and underwriters to secure competitive terms and appropriate coverage.
• Identify opportunities for portfolio growth, cross-selling and new business development.
• Conduct client reviews and provide recommendations based on individual risk exposures.
• Provide technical advice on Financial Lines policies, coverage and emerging risks.
• Work closely with claims specialists to support clients throughout the claims process.
• Review client risk information and policy wordings to ensure appropriate coverage.
• Maintain strong relationships with insurers and stay informed of market developments.

• Strong technical knowledge with the ability to negotiate effectively with insurers.
• Excellent communication, relationship management and organisational skills.
• A proactive, client-focused approach with a genuine interest in developing long‑term relationships.

Qualifications

• Tier 1 Insurance Broking qualification (required).
• Relevant tertiary qualifications highly regarded but not essential.
