Job summary

Peoplebank in Melbourne is seeking a Technology Product Owner to lead a Financial Crime platform modernization. This hands-on leadership role shapes the strategy, aligns engineering work, and delivers multi-year modernization milestones across AML, KYC, CDD, Transaction Monitoring and Sanctions Screening.

Qualifications

• Proven experience owning a Financial Crime technology product or platform.
• Strong track record in platform modernisation or major upgrades.
• Deep knowledge of AML, KYC, and related regulatory obligations.
• Experience building product strategy, roadmaps and business cases.
• Solid stakeholder engagement across tech, operations and leadership.
• Experience in large-scale enterprise data ecosystems.

Responsibilities

• Own the strategic direction and roadmap for a major Financial Crime platform.
• Define and execute a multi-year product modernisation strategy.
• Lead platform upgrades, migrations, enhancements and configuration improvements.
• Drive product investment decisions, prioritisation and capability uplift initiatives.
• Partner with Financial Crime, Risk, Compliance, Data and Engineering teams to align business and technology outcomes.
• Own and prioritise the product backlog, translating strategic objectives into actionable delivery outcomes.
• Improve platform effectiveness, operational efficiency, scalability and regulatory compliance.
• Work closely with data teams to strengthen data quality, lineage, integration and reporting capabilities.
• Ensure the platform continues to evolve in line with changing AML/CTF obligations and industry best practice.
• Influence senior stakeholders and provide thought leadership across the Financial Crime technology landscape.
