This is a hands‑on role, working closely with senior management and playing a critical role in financial reporting, while serving as a key business partner to the Group Executive. You’ll be joining a close‑knit, high‑performing team that takes ownership, challenges the status quo, and brings energy and enthusiasm to everything they do. They operate across Australia and New Zealand, with its own offshore manufacturing.

About the role

Reporting to the Group Controller ANZ, you'll lead financial control and finance operations across Australia and New Zealand. This is a hands‑on leadership role in an inventory‑intensive business. You'll own the close, consolidation, statutory reporting, treasury and controls, and you'll be a trusted finance partner to the MD, the country GMs and the commercial and operational leaders.

Key responsibilities:
Financial operations and reporting
  • Own the monthly, half-year and year-end close across all AU and NZ entities, targeting working day 5.
  • Oversee AP, AR, payroll, the general ledger and inventory accounting, and own the balance sheet reconciliation framework.
  • Prepare consolidated AU and NZ management accounts, with insight by country, channel, customer and product category.
  • Lead or support budgeting, forecasting and scenario modelling.
Consolidation and statutory
  • Prepare the AU and NZ group consolidation, including intercompany eliminations and unrealised profit.
  • Coordinate statutory accounts for all AU and NZ entities.
Treasury, working capital and inventory
  • Manage cash forecasting, banking relationships, facilities and covenant reporting.
  • Monitor FX exposures and support hedging decisions.
  • Drive working capital improvements across debtors, creditors and stock.
  • Oversee inventory valuation, landed costs, freight, rebates, stocktakes and provisioning.
  • Support product costing and margin analysis for manufactured and imported product.
Tax, audit and controls
  • Ensure BAS, GST, FBT, payroll tax and NZ tax compliance.
  • Coordinate income tax and transfer pricing with Group Finance and advisers.
  • Lead the ANZ external audit.
  • Maintain a strong control environment across order-to-cash, procure-to-pay, inventory, treasury and record-to-report.
Systems and process improvement
  • Play a lead role in the NetSuite rollout for ANZ, from process design and data through to testing and adoption.
  • Simplify and standardise processes, and reduce manual effort.
Leadership and partnering
  • Lead, coach and develop the AU and NZ finance team.
  • Partner with Sales, Operations, Supply Chain and Warehouse leaders on margin, pricing, inventory and cost performance.
About you
  • CA or CPA qualified, with an audit background.
  • At least 5 years as a Financial Controller or senior finance manager across Australia and New Zealand, ideally in a business turning over $40-100 million.
  • A manufacturing background, with hands‑on inventory accounting, standard costing, stocktakes and provisioning.
  • Distribution and retail experience, ideally across wholesale, retail and online channels.
  • A solid understanding of supply chain, including procurement, production planning, landed costs, warehousing and distribution.
  • NetSuite experience, ideally including an implementation or migration.
  • Strong technical accounting, consolidation, audit, tax and treasury capability.
  • A track record of leading finance teams and partnering with senior non‑finance stakeholders.
Highly regarded:
  • Offshore manufacturing or imported product exposure, including FX.
  • Experience in a multi‑entity, cross‑border group with intercompany and transfer pricing.
  • A listed or private equity‑owned environment.
  • A retail apparel or textitle background.
What's on offer
  • Attractive Salary Package.
  • One day a week working from home after the first 3 months, which are fully office‑based.
  • Free onsite parking.
  • A visible role in a growing international group, with close exposure to group finance leadership.
