Job description

Reo Group Executive Search has been exclusively retained to appoint a Senior Finance Director ANZ for a leading global industrial organization. This is a significant regional Finance leadership opportunity within a complex, US-headquartered multinational, supporting a strategically important Australia and New Zealand business.

Based in Sydney, the role provides Finance leadership across a diverse portfolio spanning manufacturing, equipment, technology and services. With a strong history of acquisitions and an ambitious growth agenda, the ANZ business is progressing towards a $1 billion revenue target, supported by continued organic and acquisition-led growth. Reporting to a senior global Finance executive and partnering closely with the ANZ Regional President, the successful candidate will play a key role in supporting regional performance and continued growth.

As the most senior Finance leader for ANZ, the position will oversee controllership, statutory reporting, audit, compliance and financial governance across multiple entities and operating businesses, while working closely with regional and global stakeholders.

Leading an established team of approximately 25 Finance professionals, the successful executive will build on strong financial foundations, strengthen organizational capability and develop a high-performing Finance function equipped to support the organization's evolving business priorities.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the ANZ Finance function, overseeing controllership, statutory and financial reporting, compliance, external audits and financial governance across multiple entities.
  • Partner with the ANZ Regional President and business leaders on financial performance, growth, investment decisions, commercial negotiations and operational priorities.
  • Lead, assess and develop the Finance team, strengthening organizational structure, leadership capability, talent development and succession planning.
  • Collaborate with global Finance leadership and corporate functions to ensure alignment with group reporting requirements, financial controls and strategic priorities.
  • Support M&A integration, financial process improvements and greater consistency across multiple ERP environments, while recognizing the different requirements of individual businesses.
Candidate Profile

We are seeking an accomplished senior Finance leader with significant experience within a complex multinational organization, ideally in a CFO, Finance Director, Head of Finance or equivalent role. You will have operated within a global matrix, preferably in a US-listed or US-headquartered business, with experience partnering with regional leadership and reporting into corporate or global Finance.

You will be CA or CPA qualified, with Big Four training highly regarded, and bring strong technical expertise across controllership, statutory reporting, compliance and external audit. Exposure to US GAAP, SOX and sustainability reporting will be advantageous.

You will have led sizeable Finance teams across complex, multi-business or multi-site operations, with demonstrated experience assessing talent, developing leaders and building succession capability. Experience supporting M&A integration and navigating multiple ERP environments will be highly regarded.

Importantly, you will bring strong commercial and operational Finance partnering capability, with experience supporting P&L leaders on business performance, investment and growth decisions. Exposure to diverse operating models across manufacturing, industrial, engineering, transportation, technology or project-based environments will be particularly relevant.

A collaborative and commercially astute leader, you will combine strategic thinking with a hands-on approach, strong judgement and the ability to build trusted relationships across geographically dispersed stakeholders.

Join a well-established global organization with a collaborative, performance-oriented culture and a strong commitment to developing its people. The business offers significant autonomy alongside the scale, resources and career opportunities of a global multinational.

  • Lead a strategically important regional Finance function with strong foundations already in place.
  • Work closely with regional executive leadership and senior global stakeholders.
  • Shape the future capability and effectiveness of an established Finance team.
  • Contribute to continued growth, business integration and operational improvement.
  • Benefit from potential longer-term career progression into broader regional or global Finance leadership roles.
