Job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Financial Analyst based in Australia.

We are seeking a motivated and analytical Financial Analyst to join a collaborative Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team in Nundah, Queensland. In this role, you will transform financial data into meaningful insights that support strategic planning, operational performance, and informed business decisions. You will contribute to budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and commercial analysis while working closely with experienced finance professionals and stakeholders across a growing national organisation. Your work will help identify financial trends, evaluate business performance, and uncover opportunities for improvement. This opportunity is ideal for an early-career finance professional looking to broaden their commercial expertise in a supportive, purpose-driven environment. You will also contribute to an organisation where financial performance supports a wider commitment to quality, care, and child wellbeing.

Accountabilities
  • Prepare financial reports, performance analysis, and actionable insights for key stakeholders and senior leadership.
  • Support monthly financial reporting processes, including month-end activities, budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling.
  • Maintain and improve financial reporting systems, including PBCS and monthly board reporting processes.
  • Analyse financial trends, variances, and operational results to identify risks, opportunities, and areas for performance improvement.
  • Contribute to statutory reporting requirements, cash flow analysis, capital expenditure (CapEx) forecasting, and centre incentive calculations.
  • Collaborate with the FP&A team on ad hoc reporting, financial analysis, and commercial projects aligned with business priorities.
  • Support the development of reliable financial information to strengthen planning, decision-making, and accountability across the organisation.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to understand business performance and translate financial findings into clear, practical recommendations.
  • Maintain accurate financial data and reporting processes while supporting continuous improvements in analysis and reporting efficiency.
Requirements
  • 2-3 years of experience in a Financial Analyst, FP&A Analyst, or similar corporate finance role.
  • A degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, Business, or a related discipline.
  • Experience using enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems; NetSuite experience is highly regarded.
  • Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and financial modelling.
  • Advanced Excel skills and the ability to work confidently with complex financial data.
  • Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or similar business intelligence and data visualisation tools is an advantage.
  • CPA or CA qualification, or progress towards professional accreditation, is beneficial.
  • Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and attention to detail, with the ability to identify trends and communicate meaningful insights.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to explain financial information clearly to both finance and non-finance colleagues.
  • A collaborative, proactive approach and the ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic business environment.
  • A genuine commitment to child safety, wellbeing, equity, diversity, and inclusion, with alignment to values centred on care, quality, service, and value.
  • Willingness to complete required pre-employment screening, including working-with-children checks where applicable, identity and qualification verification, work-rights checks, references, and mandatory child safety training.
Benefits
  • Flexible working arrangements: Work from home one day per week, with flexibility around start and finish times.
  • Convenient office location: Based in Nundah, close to shops, cafés, public transport, and street parking.
  • Supportive finance team: Join an experienced, collaborative team that values knowledge-sharing, trust, and professional development.
  • Childcare savings: Eligible permanent employees receive a 50% childcare gap-fee discount.
  • Career development: Gain broad exposure to financial planning, reporting, commercial projects, and strategic business decisions.
  • Experienced leadership: Benefit from hands-on leadership, supportive colleagues, and a workplace culture built on respect and collaboration.
