Job summary

Compass Group Pty Limited in Melbourne is seeking a Commercial Accountant to partner with operations, delivering month-end reporting, budgeting, forecasting, invoicing and insights for a diverse venues portfolio. This role demands advanced Excel and ERP skills and a strong commercial mindset.

You will lead financial reporting, drive working capital improvements, and collaborate with site leaders to deliver depth and clarity in commentary.

Qualifications

• 4 years min experience in commercial accounting in a large, multi-site environment.
• Advanced Excel and ERP system proficiency; strong communication and stakeholder skills.
• Degree in Accounting with progress towards CA/CPA qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end month-end reporting, reconciliations, journals and P&L analysis.
• Manage budgeting, rolling forecasts and financial performance reporting across venues.
• Drive client invoicing, debtor management and working capital improvements.
• Partner with operational leaders to deliver insightful reporting and commercial commentary.
• Identify and implement processes to improve financial performance and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Job Experience

• 4 years min experience in commercial accounting, ideal within a large organisation with multiple sites and third party contracting
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; Oracle Finance and ERP
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• A proactive, solutions-focused mindset
• Strong financial and commercial acumen
• A degree in Accounting and/or progress towards CA or CPA qualifications
• Experience within food manufacturing, food service or hospitality and cleaning based organisation would be ideal.
