Job summary

Business Nest is seeking an entry- to mid-level accountant in Victoria, Australia to maintain accurate financial records and support month-end close. You will perform reconciliations, monitor payables/receivables, and assist with financial reporting for the CFO and senior management.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in accounting and at least 1 year of relevant experience, preferably in FMCG. Proficiency with Word/Excel and Pronto is advantageous.

Qualifications

• A minimum of bachelor’s degree qualification in Accounting.
• A minimum of 1 year of relevant experience is mandatory and preferably in FMCG industry.
• Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel & Pronto (desirable)
• Excellent problem-solving skills with verbal and written communication skills.
• High level of accuracy and attention to details.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintaining accurate financial records and accounting information.
• Perform bank, balance sheet, general ledger and other account reconciliations in accordance with internal policies.
• Monitor and review accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
• Assist with month-end and year-end accounting processes.
• Assist with preparation of financial and management reports for the CFO and senior management.
• Analyse financial information, revenue, costs and expenses and identify significant variances.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting and cash-flow monitoring.
• Assist in providing relevant information to external service providers including financiers, external auditors & external accountants
• Assist with maintaining and improving accounting processes, systems and internal financial controls.
• Review financial data for accuracy and investigate and resolve discrepancies.
• Provide accounting information and analysis to support management decision-making.
