Job summary

SunPork Group in Brisbane’s Eagle Farm head office is seeking a Financial Accountant to join our Finance team. You will support financial reporting, month-end processes and compliance in a collaborative, problem‑solving environment.

You should have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and a minimum of 2 years’ experience, with CA/CPA studies in progress. Strong Excel skills and experience with ERP systems are highly valued.

• Currently studying toward CA or CPA qualification.
• Strong knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and reporting requirements.
• Proficient Excel skills and ERP experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist with monthly financial and management reporting, including variance analysis.
• Maintain capital expenditure registers and monitor WIP costs.
• Support consolidated reporting, budgeting and forecasting activities.
• Assist with BAS, FBT, payroll tax and statutory reporting.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Group Finance Manager, you will play an important role in supporting the financial reporting, compliance and accounting functions across the SunPork Group.

Working alongside an experienced Finance team, you will gain valuable exposure to month-end reporting, financial analysis, budgeting, statutory compliance and process improvement initiatives.

This position is based at our Eagle Farm office, with occasional travel to Kingaroy, QLD, providing an opportunity to connect with our operational teams and gain a broader understanding of the business.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

• Prepare month-end journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Assist with monthly financial and management reporting, including variance analysis and commentary.
• Maintain capital expenditure registers and monitor work-in-progress costs.
• Support consolidated financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting activities.
• Assist with BAS, FBT, payroll tax and statutory reporting requirements.
• Support external audits, ensuring accurate financial records and documentation.
• Work collaboratively with stakeholders across the business to ensure accurate financial information.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting accuracy and operational efficiencies.

About You

We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, organised and eager to continue developing their accounting career.

To be successful, you will have:

• A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Commerce, Business, Finance or a related discipline.
• A minimum of 2 years' relevant accounting experience.
• Currently studying towards your CA or CPA qualification (or equivalent).
• Sound knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and financial reporting requirements.
• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive working relationships.
• The ability to manage competing priorities and meet reporting deadlines.
• Experience with ERP or financial systems such as Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, Oracle, Pronto or NetSuite will be highly regarded.
