Join our team as a Finance Systems Manager
Are you a financial systems expert who thrives on solving complex challenges, driving continuous improvement and delivering strategic business outcomes? As our Finance Systems Manager, you'll take ownership of Council's financial systems environment, leading governance, controls, optimisation and major improvement initiatives while partnering with stakeholders across the organisation to ensure our systems support informed decision-making, operational excellence and future growth. Your responsibilities will include:
Financial Systems Leadership - Lead the governance, administration and continuous improvement of Council's financial management systems.
Strategic System Optimisation - Drive enhancements, upgrades and new functionality to improve system performance and business outcomes.
Governance & Controls - Maintain strong internal controls, compliance frameworks, security permissions and audit requirements.
Problem Solving at the Source - Analyse complex system issues, identify root causes and implement sustainable solutions.
Project Delivery - Lead financial systems projects from planning and stakeholder engagement through to successful implementation.
Trusted Business Partner - Provide expert advice and guidance to stakeholders across Finance, Digital, Information Management and the broader organisation.
System Integrity & Continuity - Oversee critical financial system processes, data quality, month-end and year-end activities.
Continuous Improvement - Identify opportunities to streamline processes, enhance reporting and improve the user experience.
Skills and experience:
Extensive experience managing and administering financial management systems in a complex organisation.
Demonstrated expertise in system governance, security, compliance, user access management and internal controls.
Proven success leading projects, strategic initiatives and system improvement programs from concept to delivery.
Strong business analysis skills with the ability to identify opportunities, solve complex problems and implement practical solutions.
Experience overseeing financial system implementations, upgrades and change management activities.
Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to build trusted relationships and influence outcomes.
Highly developed analytical and problem-solving capability, with a focus on identifying root causes and driving continuous improvement.
Ability to communicate complex financial and technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Experience working with TechnologyOne Financials, including system administration, configuration or back-end functionality, will be highly regarded but is not essential.
