Job summary

Sharp and Carter is seeking a high‑impact SAP Finance expert to govern and transform the SAP Finance platform within a diversified infrastructure organisation. You will be the key liaison between Finance, external partners and project teams, ensuring operational excellence and driving S/4HANA adoption.

This full‑time role offers a flexible hybrid workplace with three days in the office weekly, and a circa AUD 180,000 package reflecting seniority and market norms.

Qualifications

• CA/CPA qualified accounting professional with strong SAP Finance experience.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills across finance and IT.
• Proven ability to lead governance, data structures, and security controls.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary SAP Finance SME supporting stakeholders across the business.
• Own SAP Finance governance, master data structures and security controls.
• Provide oversight for SAP Finance routine activities and projects.
• Lead solution design and business engagement for SAP Finance initiatives.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally to ensure effective support and delivery.

About the Role

An exciting, business-critical role with an industry-leading diversified Infrastructure organisation currently exists in order to fill a key role in their Finance team. This is a high‑impact role that will act as the primary subject‑matter expert responsible for the governance, support, enhancement, and transformation of the organisation's SAP Finance platform.

Taking a hands‑on approach; this role will be the key liaison between Finance, external support partners and project teams; and has equal accountability for maintaining operational excellence across the SAP Finance landscape and driving transformation initiatives including SAP S/4HANA adoption, finance process optimisation and continuous improvement.

This role is a full‑time, permanent role. This organisation has a flexible hybrid approach to working with 3 days required in the office per week.

The Responsibilities

Reporting into the Finance Transformation Manager, your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to);

• Act as the primary SAP Finance subject‑matter expert supporting Finance stakeholders across the business.


• Own SAP Finance governance, Finance master data structures and security controls.


• Provide support and oversight for SAP Finance routine activities.


• Lead solution design and business engagement for SAP Finance projects and enhancements.


• Partner with cross‑functionally across the organisation to ensure effective support and delivery outcomes.


• Support SAP S/4HANA roadmap planning and future‑state finance architecture.


• Drive process standardisation, automation and continuous improvement initiatives.


• Maintain knowledge management documentation and support succession planning.


• Ensure SAP solutions align with business, governance and audit requirements.


• Drive continuous process improvement initiatives


• Assist in ad‑hoc projects as directed by the wider Finance team

The Successful Applicant will have

Ideally, you will be aCA/CPA qualified accounting professional and will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills as your ability to interact and engage cross‑functionally within the business will be crucial to your success. Additionally; you will have extensive hands‑on experience with SAP and be accomplished more broadly across process, governance, solutions & configuration. Furthermore, you will enjoy be involving in project‑related work. Prior working experience in Chartered Audit, Management Consulting or having worked on an SAP ERP system implementation previously will be considered advantageous!
