Job summary

Murray Shire Council is seeking a Finance Officer to deliver accurate, timely financial services supporting accounts payable and receivable. You will focus on debt recovery, arrears reduction and resolving outstanding accounts while fostering strong relationships with the Finance team and external stakeholders.

The role requires a Certificate III in Business Administration/Financial Management, advanced Excel skills and experience in a Local Government environment.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Business Administration/Financial Management or related field.
• Strong research, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
• Experience in Local Government environment.
• Experience with TechnologyOne or similar ERP software.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality with discretion.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development.
• Current Driver's Licence.
• National Police Check.

Responsibilities

• Deliver accurate, timely and efficient operational finance services supporting accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Ensure AP/AR functions are administered effectively with proactive debt recovery and arrears reduction.
• Build relationships through clear communication, customer service and collaboration with the Finance team and external stakeholders.
• This is a fixed-term position ending September 2027.
