Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and lodge tax returns including BAS, GST, and PAYG.
  • Ensure compliance with ATO requirements and manage financial records.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.

Base pay range

A$100,000.00/yr - A$110,000.00/yr

We are seeking a dynamic and energetic individual with a keen eye for detail to join our team full time. A key objective of this role is to ensure accurate and efficient data entry, maintenance of employee records, and support processing activities.

Finance Officer

As the Finance Officer you will play a vital role in supporting our Directors in ensuring timely and accurate accounts and payroll processing, and provide accounting services across multiple group companies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Taxation & Compliance
    • Prepare, review, and lodge all required tax returns, including:
      • BAS / IAS
      • GST
      • PAYG withholding
      • Long Service Leave (MyLeave)
      • FBT (if applicable)
    • Ensure compliance with ATO and State Revenue Office (WA) requirements
    • Liaise with the ATO, OSR WA, auditors, and external accountants as needed
    • Stay up to date with changes in tax and payroll legislation
    • Maintain accurate general ledger and financial records
    • Manage and process superannuation, PAYG withholding, and payroll tax obligations
    • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
    • Reconcile bank accounts, payroll accounts, and balance sheet items
    • Monthly Progress Claims calculations and processing
    • End of Month accounts processing
    • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
    • Support year-end financial statements and audit processes
Skills & Experience
  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • CPA or CA qualification (or working towards) preferred
  • Proven experience in an accounting role with hands‑on payroll and tax responsibility
  • Strong knowledge of Australian tax law, payroll, and superannuation
  • Experience with accounting software (preference Xero)
  • High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage deadlines
