Job summary

Bespoke Careers is supporting a Sydney-based architecture and design practice to appoint an experienced Finance Manager to join the senior team.

This role spans financial management and reporting across four group entities, collaborating with the MD, Principal and Team Leaders to deliver accurate reporting and commercial insight. You will lead budgeting, cash flow, and month-end processes while guiding staff and external advisers.

Qualifications

• CA or CPA qualification with current professional accreditation.
• Minimum 8 years' accounting experience in mid-sized professional services practice or project-based business.
• Tertiary qualification in Commerce, Accounting or related discipline recognised in Australia.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Experience with Total Synergy or similar practice/project management system.
• Strong commercial and financial acumen with ability to interpret financial information and provide practical advice to senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Oversee financial reporting across four group entities and inter-entity loan arrangements.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management and monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
• Prepare month-end reporting and financial summaries for leadership.
• Analyse financial performance and provide commercial insights for decision-making.
• Partner with Team Leaders on project budgets, forecasting, invoicing and financial performance.
• Oversee invoicing/accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, BAS/GST and related obligations.
• Manage practice management system and supervise a part-time bookkeeper.
