Highly successful construction and property group based on the city fringe is seeking a finance manager to oversee the finance function for the construction brand.

About the Role

The Finance Manager is primarily responsible for the day-to-day finance function of the construction business for a large property group based on the city fringe. Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, the Finance Manager will drive weekly, monthly, and annual financial reporting and analysis, and manage a team. The role will business partner with various internal stakeholders and be pivotal in providing accurate and effective financial reporting and insights to assist with strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a team or 3 direct reports
• Trusted business partner role supporting the General Manager and leadership team with analysis and financial insights
• Strategic liaison with key internal stakeholders
• Conduct weekly cash forecasting and present to the management team
• Perform cash flow and financial analysis, highlighting movements and variances to forecasts
• Complete ad hoc financial modelling to support the business with growth opportunities
• Oversee the financial accounting function including month-end and year-end financial reporting
• Assist the Management team with long term budgeting and forecasting process
• Prepare monthly management reports and board packs for the business
• Manage Work In Progress (WIP) including accounting, reporting and analysis
• Oversee daily cash management, optimising cashflow for working capital needs
• Lead the annual year-end compliance process and be the primary point of contact with external accountants and advisors

Background

• Construction industry/property development industry background in a similar senior finance leader role
• Open to 1st mover manager level from 2nd tier accounting firms (business services). That have worked with construction or property development clients.
• Ability to provide in depth financial analysis and present in meetings with senior stakeholders
• Excellent communication across all levels
• Sound problem solving skills
• Proven ability to drive outcomes
• Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, time management, and organisational skills
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Business or Accounting and CA or CPA qualified
