Job summary

The Drain Man (Aust) Bayswater North VIC invites an experienced Finance Manager to lead a small finance team and oversee day-to-day financial management across the group. The role focuses on delivering accurate financial information to support decision-making and strategic planning.

You will work across multiple entities, manage cash flow, reporting, budgeting, and compliance in a hands-on environment closely aligned to business needs.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in accounting/finance.
• Proven experience in a Finance Manager, Financial Controller or similar role.
• Budgeting and forecasting with strong commercial awareness.
• In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with Xero.
• Excellent communication, time management, and attention to detail.
• A proactive, solutions-focused approach.
• Experience working within a privately owned or multi-entity business environment will be highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Oversee invoicing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll processes.
• Manage cash flow and forecasting.
• Handle banking and reconciliation tasks.
• Ensure timely ATO reporting and lodgments.
• Maintain currency of insurance policies and manage claims.
• Manage data and transactions in Xero.
• Produce and review financial reporting (weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annually).
• Support budgeting and forecasting cycles.
• Facilitate and assess credit applications for new customers.
• Coordinate with external accountants for reporting and compliance.
• Ensure all finance tasks align with business needs and maintain high accuracy.
