Job summary

24/7 Fuels in Sydney's Revesby NSW is seeking a Finance Manager to lead financial operations and provide strategic financial leadership across the business. Reporting to senior management, you will oversee accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, budgeting, cash flow and reporting, while ensuring controls and compliance.

You will mentor the finance team and drive process improvements to support growth. The ideal candidate has CA/CPA, 5–7 years’ experience in finance management and experience

Qualifications

• Qualified in accounting or finance (CA/CPA or equivalent).
• 5–7 years’ experience in finance management or controller roles.
• Experience with Fuel Companion or other fuel accounting software.
• Proficient with accounting software and financial management systems; ERP experience is advantageous.
• Advanced Excel skills and financial modelling.
• Experience in financial planning, analysis and reporting.
• Solid understanding of audit requirements and financial compliance.
• Proven ability to manage and develop finance team members.
• Strong communication skills to present financial information clearly.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Experience in the fuel, logistics or distribution industry is valuable.
• Proactive problem-solving and process improvement mindset.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day financial operations including AP/AR and general ledger.
• Prepare and analyse monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and management accounts.
• Oversee budgeting process and monitor performance vs forecasts.
• Manage cash flow forecasting and working capital for liquidity.
• Implement and maintain financial controls, policies and procedures.
• Reconcile balance sheets and investigate variances.
• Liaise with auditors and tax advisors for compliance.
• Prepare financial reports and present findings to senior management.
• Lead and develop the finance team including recruitment and coaching.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and system enhancements.
• Support strategic planning with financial analysis and forecasting.

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Finance Manager to join our team in Revesby NSW on a full-time basis in a new office with onsite parking!

This is a strategic position that plays a pivotal role in driving financial performance and providing critical financial leadership across 24/7 Fuels. Reporting to senior management, you will be responsible for overseeing all financial operations, ensuring accurate reporting, and providing insights that support informed business decision-making. This role is essential to maintaining our financial health and supporting the company's growth objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Managing day-to-day financial operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger management
• Preparing and analysing monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and management accounts
• Overseeing the annual budgeting process and monitoring performance against budget forecasts
• Managing cash flow forecasting and working capital to ensure optimal liquidity
• Implementing and maintaining financial controls, policies and procedures to safeguard company assets
• Reconciling balance sheet accounts and investigating variances
• Liaising with external auditors and tax advisors to ensure compliance with financial reporting standards and tax obligations
• Preparing financial reports and presenting key findings to senior management and stakeholders
• Managing the finance team, including recruitment, training, mentoring and performance management
• Identifying opportunities for process improvement and implementing systems to enhance financial efficiency
• Supporting strategic planning by providing financial analysis and forecasting

What we're looking for

• A qualification in accounting or finance (such as CA, CPA or equivalent professional certification)
• Minimum 5-7 years' experience in a finance management or controller role within a commercial business environment
• History in the use of Fuel Companion or any fuel accounting software
• Strong proficiency with accounting software and financial management systems; experience with ERP systems is advantageous
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modelling
• Demonstrated experience in financial planning, analysis and reporting
• Solid understanding of audit requirements and financial compliance standards
• Proven ability to manage and develop finance team members
• Strong communication skills with the ability to present financial information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping
• Experience in the fuel, logistics or distribution industry would be highly valuable
