Job summary

Launch Recruitment Pty Ltd in Sydney is seeking an experienced Finance Reporting Manager to oversee the end-to-end month-end close across life and non-life entities. You will ensure local reporting obligations are met and provide management with accurate information for review and approval.

Working with Actuarial, Tax, Planning and Finance, you will drive compliance, governance and continuous improvement while mentoring a high-performing finance team.

Qualifications

• CPA/CA qualification with 5+ years post-qualification experience.
• Experience in financial services, preferably insurance.
• Strong knowledge of financial and insurance accounting standards.
• Experience with statutory and regulatory reporting.
• Advanced Excel skills and SAP GL experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage the end-to-end month-end close across life and non-life entities.
• Lead quarterly local/statutory reporting, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Collaborate with Actuarial, Tax, Planning, Operations and Finance to deliver requirements.
• Support audit processes and respond to auditor queries.
• Ensure reporting controls comply with standards, regulatory requirements and internal policies.
• Contribute to process improvements across finance and reporting.
• Support broader financial governance and regulatory sign-offs.
• Build relationships across Finance and the wider business for accurate information.
• Lead, develop and mentor team members in a high-performing environment.

This role is responsible for managing the end-to-end month-end and local reporting process across the organisation’s life and non-life entities, ensuring all local reporting obligations are met and providing accurate financial information to management for review and approval.

Role Responsibilities:

• Manage the end-to-end month-end close process across life and non-life entities.
• Lead quarterly local/statutory reporting, ensuring all reporting obligations are met accurately and on time.
• Work closely with Actuarial, Tax, Planning, Operations and Finance stakeholders to deliver reporting requirements.
• Support audit processes, responding to auditor queries and ensuring findings are addressed appropriately.
• Ensure financial reporting and controls comply with relevant accounting standards, regulatory requirements and internal policies.
• Contribute to process improvements across the finance and reporting function.
• Support broader financial governance and regulatory sign-off activities.
• Build strong relationships across Finance and the wider business to ensure accurate and consistent financial information.

Key Requirements:

• CPA/CA qualified or equivalent, with 5+ years’ post-qualification experience.
• Experience within financial services, ideally with an insurance background.
• Strong knowledge of financial accounting and insurance accounting.
• Experience with statutory and regulatory reporting.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Experience working with SAP General Ledger.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
