Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in a Finance Manager or senior accounting role.
• Experience in budget management, cost control, financial reporting and regulatory compliance.
• Experience in financial systems implementation or process improvement projects.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and experience with accounting software or ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Determine, implement, monitor and evaluate budgetary and accounting strategies in consultation with senior management.
• Provide timely financial analysis and advice to management with insights on profitability and funding needs.
• Lead the development and improvement of financial management systems (ERP) to ensure data integrity.
• Prepare comprehensive financial reports including statements and cash flow forecasts.
• Assess financial viability of capital proposals and cost initiatives using cost‑benefit analysis.
• Advise on funding strategies, capital allocation and earnings distribution for growth.
• Oversee annual budgeting, long‑range forecasts and regulatory reporting.

This growth has created an urgent need to strengthen our financial management function to support increasing operational complexity and project delivery requirements.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Finance Manager to lead and manage our financial operations during this critical growth phase. Reporting directly to the Director, you will be responsible for establishing robust financial frameworks, managing cash flow, providing strategic financial analysis, and ensuring the company has the financial controls necessary to deliver our expanding project pipeline. This is a hands‑on role that requires both strategic vision and operational execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Determine, implement, monitor and evaluate budgetary and accounting strategies, policies and plans in consultation with the Director and senior management to support business objectives.
• Provide timely and accurate financial analysis and advice to management, interpreting financial data and its implications for business performance, project profitability and funding requirements.
• Lead the development, implementation and continuous improvement of financial management systems (ERP), driving system enhancements to ensure data integrity and operational accuracy.
• Direct the preparation of comprehensive financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, cash flow forecasts and financial projections that summarise the organisation's financial position.
• Assess and evaluate the financial viability of capital finance proposals, operational expenditure initiatives and new business projects through cost‑benefit analysis.
• Advise management on funding strategies, capital allocation, investment decisions and the distribution of earnings to support sustainable business growth.
• Oversee the annual budgeting process, deliver long‑range profit forecasts and manage financial reporting to support strategic planning and operational decision‑making.
• Ensure full compliance with all relevant financial legislation, taxation and accounting standards, including GST, PAYG and statutory obligations, and coordinate regulatory reporting requirements.

Selection Criteria
