SA Portable Long Service Leave (SAPLSL) – Community Services is seeking a Finance Manager to lead financial operations and drive strategic financial decision-making. The role reports to the CEO and collaborates closely with the Finance Officer on daily activities.

The successful candidate will manage budgeting, month-end and year-end processes, and ensure compliance with tax and accounting standards while mentoring the Finance Officer. Eastwood location with onsite parking and full-time hours.

Qualifications

• CPA or CA qualified.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in finance roles with tax compliance knowledge.
• Knowledge of contemporary accounting concepts, standards and structures.
• Experience coordinating accounts payable/receivable, end-of-month processing, and financial reporting.
• Proven leadership to develop a high-performing team and culture.
• Experience with Xero, CRM systems and Microsoft Office.

SA Portable Long Service Leave (SAPLSL) – Community Services is a state-based entity working with both employers and employees to administer portable long service leave entitlements for the South Australian community services industry.

Reporting to the CEO, the Finance Manager will manage PLSL's financial operations, ensuring the integrity of our financial processes and contributing to strategic decision-making. This is a hands-on role within a small finance team.

This role works closely with the Finance Officer on a day-to-day whilst also managing and mentoring them to deliver high-quality financial outcomes, including all audit and legislative requirements.

The role manages the Annual Budget, End of Month and End of Financial Year processes, journals, reconciliations, and balance sheet items, ensuring the finance function runs efficiently and effectively throughout the year.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and monthly reporting to the Board
• Manage all accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and cashflow requirements of the business on a daily basis
• Identify financial issues, anomalies, and risks, and escalation to the CEO as required
• Develop and review financial management policies, systems, process maps, and work instructions
• Manage, train, and mentor the Finance Officer to support their development and the delivery of high-quality financial services
• Develop strong relationships with third-party providers supporting the finance function, including auditors, actuaries, systems providers and financial consultants

Role Requirements

• CPA or CA qualified
• Minimum 5 years' experience in finance roles, with a complete understanding of the financial transactions required to comply with all relevant tax legislation and accounting standards
• Demonstrated knowledge of contemporary accounting concepts, standards, and structures, including the ability to translate complex financial data for diverse range of different stakeholders
• Experience in a medium-sized organisation coordinating accounts payable and receivable, end-of-month processing, and financial report preparation
• Demonstrated experience leading employees to perform and deliver outcomes, and contributing to a high-performing workplace culture
• Experience with accounting software (Xero), CRM systems, and Microsoft Office (Excel (Advanced), Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships with key stakeholders
• National Police Clearance or willingness to obtain as a condition of employment.
