CS Executive Group in Melbourne, Australia is seeking an experienced Finance & HR Manager to lead a hands-on, dual-function role spanning financial management, payroll oversight and HR coordination.
The role combines traditional finance leadership with people operations to support day-to-day business performance in a fast-paced environment.
Our client is an established Australian business with a strong reputation in its sector. With a focus on operational excellence, quality and continuous improvement, the business offers a collaborative, hands-on working environment and the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution across its financial and people operations.
An opportunity has arisen for a Finance & HR Manager to join the business in a broad, hands-on role encompassing financial management, payroll and HR coordination.
This is a rare and unique opportunity for an experienced finance professional seeking a diverse, dual-function role that combines financial management with payroll oversight and HR coordination. Offering a broader scope than a traditional Finance Manager position, this role provides the opportunity to contribute across both the financial and people-related functions of the business, making a meaningful impact on its day-to-day operations.
Key responsibilities will include:
Manage month-end and year-end accounting processes, including financial reporting, reconciliations and management accounts.
Prepare budgets, forecasts, cash flow reports and financial analysis to support business decisions.
Oversee product costing, inventory accounting and financial performance reporting.
Manage statutory financial obligations, including BAS, GST, PAYG and payroll tax.
Supervise the accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring accurate and timely processing.
Prepare and process weekly payroll, including timesheets, overtime, shift penalties, allowances, leave entitlements and superannuation.
Ensure payroll compliance with relevant Modern Awards, National Employment Standards and legislative requirements.
Coordinate HR administration, including employee onboarding and offboarding, employment contracts, variations and employee records.
Maintain HR systems, training records and compliance documentation, and coordinate employee training activities.
Prepare regular financial and HR reports for management.
To be successful in this role, you will be an experienced, hands-on finance professional who enjoys working across a broad range of responsibilities and is comfortable operating in a practical, fast-paced business environment.
You will ideally bring:
Demonstrated experience as a Company Accountant or Financial Controller or in a similar senior accounting position.
Strong technical accounting capabilities, including financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and statutory compliance.
An accounting degree or relevant tertiary qualification, with CA/CPA qualifications advantageous but not essential.
Experience with MYOB or similar accounting and payroll systems.
Experience managing end-to-end payroll, ideally for both hourly and salaried employee structures.
Sound knowledge of Modern Awards, payroll legislation and employment compliance requirements.
Experience with HR administration, including onboarding, employment documentation and employee records management.
Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.
A collaborative, approachable communication style and the ability to work effectively with management and employees at all levels.
Previous experience within a similarly hands-on commercial environment will be highly regarded. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance professional seeking a varied finance and HR management role with broad responsibilities and the opportunity to contribute directly to business operations.
All applications will be treated in strict confidence.
