Job summary

The Victorian Government Solicitor's Office (VGSO) is recruiting a Finance Governance Lead in Melbourne. You will manage VGSO's financial governance, strengthen controls, and oversee procurement policy across a professional services environment.

You will lead month-end accounting, balance sheet governance and risk management, while developing the accounts payable function and building capability across leaders and service providers.

Qualifications

• Strong financial accounting expertise across month-end and year-end processes, general ledger management, journals, accruals, reconciliations and financial controls.
• Proven ability to safeguard integrity, accuracy and completeness of financial records and reporting in a complex environment.
• Experience strengthening governance, risk management and internal control frameworks, including procurement, contract management and financial delegations.
• Credibility and communication skills to advise, influence outcomes and build relationships with senior leaders, auditors and service providers.
• Ability to translate complex financial information into clear analysis, reports and recommendations to support decisions.
• Demonstrated leadership, initiative and resilience, with capability to lead change and continuous improvement.
• Advanced proficiency in financial modelling, business intelligence and ERP systems to improve reporting and performance.
• Tertiary qualifications in accounting/finance with CPA Australia or CA ANZ are required.
