Job summary

Brunel is seeking a Finance Director for an Australian renewables owner/developer on a fixed-term basis in Sydney. The role leads the finance function, overseeing budgets, cash flow, reporting and project economics to support portfolio decisions.

You will work closely with the leadership team, manage external advisers, ensure compliance, and provide strategic financial insight across development and investment activities.

Qualifications

• Senior finance leadership experience in renewable energy, infrastructure, or capital-intensive environments.
• Strong financial control and reporting credentials.
• Experience supporting investment or project decisions.

Responsibilities

• Lead budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management and financial reporting across the business and projects.
• Maintain robust financial controls and oversee external accounting, tax and audit advisors.
• Provide financial analysis for development, investment decisions, transactions and funding arrangements.
• Review project models with development and commercial teams to identify risks and opportunities.
• Prepare clear financial reporting and recommendations for the executive team, investors and board.
• Oversee finance processes and systems, improving them without adding unnecessary complexity.
• Manage day-to-day priorities of the finance function in a lean team.
