Job summary

CSIRO is seeking a Finance Coordinator - External Budgets and Capital to support financial sustainability with expert budgeting, management and reporting across CSIRO and entities. You will work with internal stakeholders to deliver timely budget information and advise on Commonwealth Budget processes.

The role involves leading external budget processes, CBMS maintenance, and developing publications like PBS/PAES, while enabling strategic financial advice and staff training.

Qualifications

• Degree in accounting, commerce or business and progress toward CA or CPA.
• Experience in external budgeting and understanding of Australian government financial framework.
• Ability to provide financial management advice with business partnering focus.
• Strong judgement and problem-solving to resolve budgeting issues.
• Ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CBMS.

Responsibilities

• Provide advice on external budget and capital budgeting processes.
• Maintain external budgets in CBMS.
• Develop Budget publications (PBS/PAES) and Capital Management Plan.
• Meet government reporting requirements and prepare coordinated responses.
• Provide strategic and technical budgeting advice across CSIRO.
• Lead knowledge transfer and staff training within CSIRO Finance.
