Job summary

VetPartners is seeking a Finance Business Partner – Operations to work with our clinic leaders across Australasia, helping them understand performance and make confident commercial decisions that support the pets we care for.

This role puts you out in the business, building trusted relationships with Zone General Managers, Regional Managers and Practice Managers, translating numbers into actionable insights.

Qualifications

• Experience in Finance Business Partnering, FP&A, Commercial Finance or Management Accounting.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret financial and operational performance.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting and financial planning.
• Excellent relationship-building and stakeholder management skills.
• Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with financial reporting or BI tools.

Responsibilities

• Partner with operational leaders to improve financial and business performance across our clinic network.
• Analyse revenue, labour costs, operating expenses and EBITDA to uncover trends, opportunities and risks.
• Lead regular performance reviews that help our leaders understand what's driving results.
• Develop budgets, forecasts and financial models that support strategic decision-making.
• Build business cases and provide commercial advice on new initiatives and investments.
• Translate financial data into practical, easy-to-understand recommendations.
• Help develop the financial capability of operational leaders across the business.
• Work collaboratively across Finance and Operations to improve performance and drive accountability.

With more than 270 veterinary clinics and specialty hospitals across Australia and New Zealand, we're looking for a Finance Business Partner – Operations to work alongside our operational leaders, helping them understand performance, uncover opportunities, and make confident commercial decisions that support our clinics, teams and the pets they care for.

You'll be out in the business, building trusted relationships with Zone General Managers, Regional Managers and Practice Managers, understanding what drives performance and helping leaders make better decisions.

Most importantly, you'll help turn insights into action.

Reporting to our General Manager FP&A, you'll become a trusted commercial partner who can simplify complex financial information and help leaders focus on what matters most.

What you'll be doing

You'll have the opportunity to:

• Partner with operational leaders to improve financial and business performance across our clinic network

About you

You're naturally curious and enjoy understanding how a business works and using financial insights to help improve it.

You're confident working with stakeholders, comfortable challenging constructively, and know how to explain financial concepts in a way that makes sense to people outside Finance.

You’ll also bring:

• Experience in Finance Business Partnering, FP&A, Commercial Finance or Management Accounting
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret financial and operational performance
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting and financial planning
• Excellent relationship-building and stakeholder management skills
• Advanced Excel skills, with experience using financial reporting or BI tools highly regarded
• A tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance or Commerce
• CA or CPA qualification (or currently working towards it) will be highly regarded
• Experience supporting a multi-site business will be viewed favourably, but more importantly, we're looking for someone who enjoys partnering with people and making a genuine commercial impact.
