Job summary

The Salvation Army is seeking a Finance Analyst to translate financial data into practical insights and support budgeting, forecasting and reporting for the Aged Care portfolio.

You will partner with finance and operational stakeholders to improve reporting, financial performance and governance, contributing to informed decision-making and strong outcomes. This hybrid role offers flexible working arrangements and opportunities for professional development.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting and management reporting.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including financial modelling and analysis.
• Strong communication, stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills.
• The ability to interpret financial information, identify trends and communicate findings clearly.
• CPA or CA qualification, or progress towards completion, is desirable.
• Experience with Power BI or similar BI tools will also be highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Prepare timely financial reports, performance analysis and variance commentary to support operational and strategic decision-making.
• Support annual budgets, forecasts and long-term financial plans, including financial modelling and scenario analysis.
• Partner with operational leaders and budget owners to provide financial insights, challenge assumptions and promote accountability.
• Maintain accurate financial records, including balance sheet reconciliations, and support compliance with financial policies and governance requirements.
• Identify opportunities to streamline reporting, automate processes and enhance the use of finance systems and analytical tools.
• Contribute to audits, statutory reporting and finance projects that support continuous improvement and organisational effectiveness.
