Job summary

Service Stream is expanding its Transport division and seeks a Finance Coordinator to deliver accurate financial coordination across maintenance, faults, projects and subcontracted services. You will handle cost capture, WIP, invoicing, forecasting and reporting, ensuring compliance with contractual requirements and providing timely variance analysis to contract leaders.

Hybrid work from Williamstown office available.

Qualifications

• Qualifications in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration, or equivalent industry experience.
• Strong Excel and ERP capabilities, preferably including Jobpac, SAP or comparable systems.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to explain financial information clearly to operational and field-based stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Process and reconcile POs, invoices, subcontractor claims and financial transactions with proper controls.
• Maintain cost structures, budgets and forecasts; monitor performance and provide variance analysis.
• Support client invoicing and progress claims with auditable records.
• Prepare monthly financial reports, reconciliations and cost analysis; identify variances and improvements.

Job description

We are excited to launch new roles in our Transport division to support our two new long-term Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) maintenance contracts awarded by the Victorian Department of Transport and Planning.

The Victoria West ITS Maintenance Contract will see our teams maintain more than 4,500 ITS assets across 27 Local Government Areas, covering around a third of metropolitan Melbourne and extending west to the South Australian border. We also have the Motorway Communications Network Contract, which connects more than 2,000 roadside devices including lane use management signs, variable speed limit signs, freeway ramp signals, CCTV and sensor technologies, while also connecting private road operators with Victoria’s transport control system.

About the role

As our Finance Coordinator, you will be responsible for providing accurate financial coordination including supporting cost capture, WIP, invoicing, forecasting, reporting and audit evidence across maintenance, faults, projects and subcontracted services.

Key responsibilities include:

• Transactions and controls – processing and reconciling purchase orders, invoices, subcontractor claims and financial transactions, ensuring compliance with delegated authorities, financial controls and contract requirements, while verifying costs and resolving discrepancies promptly.
• Budgeting and forecasting - maintain projecting cost structures, budgets and forecasts, monitor financial performance against commitments and WIP, and provide timely variance analysis and reporting to contract leaders.
• Client invoicing and evidence - supporting client invoicing and progress claims by maintaining accurate, auditable records and supporting documentation, ensuring compliance with payment, reporting and contractual requirements.
• Reporting and improvement - preparing and delivering monthly financial reporting, reconciliations and cost analysis, identifying variances, control improvements and opportunities to enhance cost capture and operational efficiency.

About you

Our ideal candidate will have experience in project finance, contract accounting or financial administration preferably within infrastructure, construction or maintenance services industries.

You may also have:

• Qualifications in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration, or equivalent industry experience.
• Strong Excel and ERP capabilities, preferably including Jobpac, SAP or comparable systems.
