Job summary

Nomura's Australian Financial Institutions Group (FIG) is looking to add an Analyst to assist with domestic and cross-border M&A transactions. Prior FIG sector experience is not essential; the ideal candidate will have exposure to M&A and a proactive, self-driven attitude to support marketing and execution.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of Investment banking / boutique advisory, or corporate development experience.
• Strong financial modelling and analytical abilities.
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain financial models including DCF, merger models, LBO, and comps analyses.
• Assist senior bankers in preparing client-ready materials for live M&A transactions.
• Support due diligence and data room coordination with external advisors.
• Conduct market, industry, and company research on financial institutions.
• Monitor sector trends and identify potential client opportunities.
• Collaborate with Nomura teams on cross-border transactions.
• Take ownership of ad-hoc analytical and administrative tasks to support deal teams.
