Job summary

Veolia North West Alliance seeks an Operations Supervisor with a waste management background to lead the professional driving team in the Newman area. You will coordinate service deliveries, champion a strong safety culture, and drive continuous improvement, including potential truck driving when required.

Leading drivers, ensuring safety standards, and maintaining operational excellence are core to this role, which is FI/FO out of Perth and part of the Veolia JV.

Qualifications

• Background in waste management desirable.
• Understanding of National Heavy Vehicle Regulations.
• Analytic skills and ability to read reports.
• Ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Strong people skills, including communication and negotiation.
• Ability to work autonomously with a strong safety focus.
• Experience with Solid Waste Driver Management computer system is advantageous.
• A valid HC/MC truck license ideal.

• Conduct Daily Prestart meetings with drivers.
• Manage and resolve occupational health and safety and environmental issues.
• Communicate accurate and timely information to all stakeholders.
• Manage drivers and ensure full compliance with Chain of Responsibility.
• Proactively review route performance to identify optimisation opportunities.
• Develop a safety-first and continuous improvement culture.
• Problem solve by responding to immediate operational concerns with a solutions focus.

The Opportunity

We're seeking an Operations Supervisor with a background in waste management to join our JV and to lead our professional driving team.

You’ll coordinate service delivery, champion a strong culture of safety, and drive continuous improvement through effective problem-solving. You may also be required to drive our trucks when needed.

With your strong leadership skills and proactive approach to HSE management, you'll ensure exceptional service delivery while maintaining the highest safety standards.

This role is a FI/FO role out of Perth Only

What you'll be responsible for

• Assisting in the coordination of service deliveries through the supervision of drivers
