Job summary

ISS is hiring a FIFO Head Chef for a remote mining village, operating 8:6 roster on a Fulltime basis. You will deliver breakfast, crib and dinner to a high standard while upholding ISS’s reputation for excellence and safety.

Competitive annual wage of $110,000–$120,000 plus super, with meals, accommodation and uniforms provided while on site, plus ongoing training and health support programs.

Qualifications

• Head Chef in a commercial kitchen is essential.
• Must have Australian Trade Qualification of Commercial Cookery Certificate 3 or higher.
• Proven experience in high-volume catering, including bulk meals and banquet/service.
• Experience in mining village operations is desirable.

We're hiring FIFO (Fly In / Fly Out) Head Chefs from Brisbane and nearby suburbs on a 8:6 roster for Fulltime Employment.

Working closely with the Village Management team, you'll be responsible for delivering high-quality meals across Breakfast, Crib, and Dinner—while proudly upholding ISS’s reputation for excellence and creating memorable dining experiences that exceed expectations.

To be considered:

• Experience as a Head Chef in a commercial kitchen (essential).


• Must have Australian Trade Qualification of Commercial Cookery Certificate 3 or higher


• Proven experience as a chef in high-volume catering, including bulk meals and banquet or function service.


• Experience in mining village operations (Desirable)


• Must have with a strong ability to meet client expectations for food quality, presentation, and strict adherence to food safety and HACCP standards.


• Unrestricted work rights in Australia


• Must have a valid police check issued within the last 12 months or be willing to obtain one.


• Must pass a Pre‑employment Medical Test, Functional Assessment and Drug and Alcohol Screen.


• Driver's License/ Photo ID required


• Demonstrate a proactive, solutions-focused approach with excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills to ensure smooth operations.
