Job summary

ISS Facility Services (Australia) is seeking an experienced Chef to join our remote mining kitchen operations, flying in from Perth on a 2:1 FIFO roster. You will work with qualified chefs to deliver nutritious meals, maintain safety standards, and mentor junior staff in a demanding environment.

Reporting to the Head Chef/Village Manager, you’ll manage high-volume cooking, uphold HACCP and WHS standards, and contribute to a positive dining experience for residents at remote sites across WA.

Qualifications

• Certificate 3 and/or 4 in Commercial Cookery/ Kitchen Management (or international equivalent) - Essential
• Proven professional work experience as qualified chef (minimum 2–3 years) - Essential
• Bulk cooking experience in a high-volume kitchen environment - Desirable
• Strong teamwork, communication skills, and ability to work under pressure
• Knowledge of food safety standards, HACCP, and WHS requirements
• Must pass a full Pre‑Employment Medical Assessment and Drug & Alcohol Screen
• Full Working rights in Australia
• Police Clearance (not older than 12 Months)
• Ability to work 2:1 FIFO roster from Perth Airport

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook high-quality meals consistently and efficiently
• Support the kitchen team to maintain food safety, hygiene, and WHS standards
• Assist with stock management, ordering, and kitchen operations
• Collaborate with the Head Chef on menu execution and service improvements
• Mentor junior kitchen staff and contribute to a positive team environment
