Job summary

ISS is seeking an experienced Chef to join our mining village kitchens in Central Queensland. This on-site role operates on a 9 days on/5 days off or 2 weeks on/1 week off roster, reporting to the Head Chef/Village Manager.

You will prepare high-quality meals, uphold HACCP and WHS standards, and mentor junior kitchen staff in a remote mining environment. Qualifications include Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (Australia), 2–3 years of cooking experience, and current food safety

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of professional chef experience.
• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery recognised in Australia.
• Current Food Safety Certificate or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook high-quality meals consistently and efficiently.
• Support the kitchen team to maintain food safety, hygiene, and WHS standards.
• Assist with stock management, ordering, and kitchen operations.
• Collaborate with the Head Chef on menu execution and service improvements.
• Mentor junior kitchen staff and contribute to a positive team environment.
