Job summary

Ventia is seeking a Groundwater Technician based in Tatura, VIC, performing groundwater and surface water monitoring and water quality sampling. The role is largely field-based, involves hiking, boat work, 4WD driving, and occasional overnight stays in remote locations.

The position is casual (on call) with shifts 8am–4pm and will typically work about half the month, suited to those returning to work, studying, or seeking a pace change. Australian citizenship is required for Defence Clearance.

Qualifications

• Proficient with hand, power and pneumatic tools; willing to learn.
• Trade experience with outdoor work.
• Qualifications in Environmental Science, Geology, Hydrogeology or Environmental Engineering can be beneficial but are not required.
• Environmental monitoring experience in water, air and soils sampling.
• Computer literacy (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Driver’s Licence is required.

Responsibilities

• Field water quality sample collection from groundwater bores and mine shafts.
• Collect environmental data using specialist software and scientific instruments.
• Service, calibrate and maintain onsite monitoring equipment and sensors.
• Undertake maintenance and new works installations.
• Troubleshoot telemetry devices.
