Job summary

SA Water is seeking a Field Technician to join the Laboratory Services team. The role involves collecting water samples across South Australia, conducting field testing, and assisting in monitoring water quality to safeguard communities. Travel to metro, regional and remote locations is expected.

You will work independently in the field, maintain sampling equipment, perform QC checks, and report data. A valid driver’s licence, 4WD experience, and safety focus are essential for success in this

Qualifications

A current and valid driver’s licence.
4WD experience is highly beneficial.
Experience with field test monitoring equipment and field testing methods.
High attention to detail and well organized data entry.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Knowledge of water and wastewater systems is advantageous.
Physically fit for metro/regional/remote field work.
A strong safety mindset.

Responsibilities

Collect samples such as potable, waste, sewage, ground and environmental water, sludge and soils.
Maintenance of all sampling and field equipment.
Perform QC checks and collect QC samples as required.
Arrange field consumables and sampling equipment for each job.
Review sampling routes and methods performed.
Collaborate to ensure team goals are achieved.
Maintain a strong safety record and proactive safety approach.
