Job summary

RaptorTech is seeking a hands-on Field Service Technician to join our Mining Operations team. You will install, maintain and optimise advanced mining technology across remote mine sites, supporting customers and internal teams to ensure peak performance.

The role features an 8/6 FIFO/DIDO roster with competitive salary and opportunities to work with cutting-edge systems like HPGPS, FMS, IVMS and CAS. Strong troubleshooting and autonomy are essential.

Qualifications

• Trade or technical qualification in electrical, mechanical or related discipline (desirable).
• Hands-on experience in mining technology or field-based equipment is valued.
• Experience with mining communications infrastructure or networking is highly desirable.
• Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to continually develop technical knowledge and stay current.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain and support advanced mining technology systems (HPGPS, FMS, IVMS, CAS).
• Manage communications infrastructure including solar trailers, LTE, Wi‑Fi and data centre equipment.
• Diagnose hardware, software and network issues to minimise downtime.
• Perform preventative maintenance, system diagnostics and repairs.
• Configure hardware, install software updates and support system upgrades.
• Monitor system performance and identify opportunities to improve reliability and uptime.
• Act as the key link between customers and RaptorTech’s technical support teams.
• Deliver on-site technical support and training to customers and operators.
• Work autonomously in remote environments while collaborating with the wider team.
• Contribute ideas for innovation and continuous improvement.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Field Service Technician to join our team in a FIFO/DIDO position, working an 8 days on / 6 days off roster.

This is an exciting, hands‑on opportunity to work with advanced mining technology across remote mine sites, supporting the installation, maintenance and optimisation of critical operational systems.

You’ll be the face of RaptorTech on site, working closely with our customers and internal technical teams to ensure our technology performs at its best.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Install, maintain and support advanced mining technology systems, including High Precision GPS (HPGPS), Fleet Management Systems (FMS), In‑Vehicle Monitoring Systems (IVMS) and Collision Avoidance Systems (CAS).
• Manage and maintain communications infrastructure, including solar trailers, LTE, Wi‑Fi networks and data centre equipment.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware, software and communications issues to minimise downtime.
• Perform preventative maintenance, system diagnostics, fault finding and repairs.
• Configure hardware, install software updates and support system upgrades.
• Monitor system performance and identify opportunities to improve reliability, efficiency and uptime.
• Act as the key link between our customers and RaptorTech’s technical support teams.
• Deliver professional on‑site technical support and training to customers and operators.
• Work independently in remote environments while collaborating with our wider technical team.
• Contribute ideas and improvements that support innovation and continuous improvement.
• Champion RaptorTech’s commitment to safety, quality and operational excellence.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who enjoys getting their hands dirty, solving technical challenges and delivering exceptional customer service.

Ideally, you’ll bring:

A trade or technical qualification in electrical, mechanical, communications or a related discipline (desirable). Relevant hands‑on experience will also be considered.

Previous experience working with mining technology, communications systems or field‑based technical equipment.

Experience with mining communications infrastructure and networking (highly desirable).

Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic and problem‑solving skills.

An interest in emerging technologies and a willingness to continually develop your technical knowledge.

Excellent communication skills and the confidence to engage with customers and stakeholders.

The ability to work autonomously, manage competing priorities and collaborate with remote teams.

A strong commitment to workplace safety, quality and continuous improvement.

The ability to work an 8/6 FIFO/DIDO roster and meet site mobilisation requirements.
