Job summary

MacLean Engineering is seeking a Field Service Technician in Wangara, NSW to service and repair underground and surface mining equipment, both in the workshop and on customer sites, with a focus on mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and diesel systems.

The role requires a hands-on, travel-ready technician with a trade qualification in heavy‑duty diesel, automotive, plant or mobile plant, and experience with mining equipment is highly desirable; safety and quality come first, with training

Qualifications

• Trade qualification as a Heavy-Duty Diesel Mechanic, Automotive Mechanic, Plant Mechanic, Mobile Plant Technician or similar.
• Experience working on mining, heavy mobile or industrial equipment is highly desirable.
• Strong mechanical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.

This Field Service Technician Permanent Full-time role offering a competitive wage based in a professional Mechanical Workshop atWangara, NSW.

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Field Service Technician to join our team in Perth. This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified technician who enjoys working on a wide range of underground and surface mining equipment, support equipment and heavy-duty machinery.

You will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, fault-finding and repairing equipment both in the workshop and at customer sites. The role will involve working on mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and diesel systems across a variety of mining equipment.

We are also interested in qualified automotive mechanics and heavy-duty mechanics looking to take their skills into the mining industry. We are looking for someone who is hands-on, reliable and takes pride in their work.

You will possess:

• Trade qualification as a Heavy-Duty Diesel Mechanic, Automotive Mechanic, Plant Mechanic, Mobile Plant Technician or similar.
• Experience working on mining, heavy mobile or industrial equipment is highly desirable.
• Strong mechanical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Experience with hydraulic and electrical systems.
• The ability to read and understand hydraulic, electrical and mechanical drawings.
• A strong commitment to safety and quality.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.
• The ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• A current Australian driver's license.
• A willingness to travel to customer sites and work underground and on surface operations.
