Job summary

MacLean Engineering is seeking a Field Service Technician to service and repair mining equipment at our workshop in Wangara and at customer sites across Perth. You will diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and diesel systems on underground and surface equipment, with travel to sites as needed.

The role suits hands-on technicians with a trade qualification and strong fault-finding skills, and offers training, supportive supervision, and a clear career path within a global mining

Qualifications

• Trade qualification as Heavy-Duty Diesel Mechanic, Automotive Mechanic, Plant Mechanic, Mobile Plant Technician or similar.
• Experience on mining, heavy mobile or industrial equipment is highly desirable.
• Strong mechanical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Experience with hydraulic and electrical systems.
• Ability to read hydraulic, electrical and mechanical drawings.
• Commitment to safety and quality.

Responsibilities

• Service, maintain, fault-find and repair equipment in the workshop and at customer sites.
• Work on mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and diesel systems across mining equipment.
• Travel to customer sites and work underground and on surface operations.
• Operate safely with a strong focus on quality and efficiency.

This Field Service Technician Permanent Full-time role offering a competitive wage based in a professional Mechanical Workshop at Wangara, NSW.

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Field Service Technician to join our team in Perth. This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified technician who enjoys working on a wide range of underground and surface mining equipment, support equipment and heavy‑duty machinery.

You will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, fault‑finding and repairing equipment both in the workshop and at customer sites. The role will involve working on mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and diesel systems across a variety of mining equipment.

We are also interested in qualified automotive mechanics and heavy‑duty mechanics looking to take their skills into the mining industry. We are looking for someone who is hands‑on, reliable and takes pride in their work.

You will possess:

• Trade qualification as a Heavy‑Duty Diesel Mechanic, Automotive Mechanic, Plant Mechanic, Mobile Plant Technician or similar.
• Experience working on mining, heavy mobile or industrial equipment is highly desirable.
• Strong mechanical fault‑finding and diagnostic skills.
• Experience with hydraulic and electrical systems.
• The ability to read and understand hydraulic, electrical and mechanical drawings.
• A strong commitment to safety and quality.
• Good communication and problem‑solving skills.
• The ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• A willingness to travel to customer sites and work underground and on surface operations.
