Job summary

MacLean Engineering & Marketing Co. is seeking a Field Service Technician to support underground and surface mining equipment in Orange, NSW.

You will service, diagnose and repair a range of heavy equipment in the workshop and on customer sites, working with mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and diesel systems. The role requires hands-on technicians who can travel to sites, read drawings, and uphold safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification as Heavy-Duty Diesel Mechanic or similar.
• Experience on mining/heavy equipment desirable.
• Ability to read hydraulic, electrical and mechanical drawings.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Commitment to safety and quality.
• Able to travel to customer sites and work underground/surface.

Responsibilities

• Service, maintain, fault-find and repair equipment in workshop and at customer sites.
• Work on mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and diesel systems across mining equipment.
• Inspect, diagnose and repair components to minimize downtime.
• Collaborate with team and ensure safety procedures are followed.

This Field Service Technician Permanent Full-time role offering a competitive wage based in a professional Mechanical Workshop atOrange, NSW.

About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Field Service Technician to join our team in Orange, NSW. This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified technician who enjoys working on a wide range of underground and surface mining equipment, support equipment and heavy-duty machinery. You will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, fault-finding and repairing equipment both in the workshop and at customer sites. The role will involve working on mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and diesel systems across a variety of mining equipment.

We are also interested in qualified automotive mechanics and heavy-duty mechanics looking to take their skills into the mining industry. We are looking for someone who is hands-on, reliable and takes pride in their work.

You will possess:

• Trade qualification as a Heavy-Duty Diesel Mechanic, Automotive Mechanic, Plant Mechanic, Mobile Plant Technician or similar.
• Experience working on mining, heavy mobile or industrial equipment is highly desirable.
• Strong mechanical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Experience with hydraulic and electrical systems.
• The ability to read and understand hydraulic, electrical and mechanical drawings.
• A strong commitment to safety and quality.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.
• The ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• A willingness to travel to customer sites and work underground and on surface operations.

Automotive and Forklift Mechanics are Encouraged to Apply
